Originally joined the club in 1986 and raced in the 7.5l displacement class until about 1994.

"The Thunder on the Swan" has been part of the local boating scene since the club was formed way back in 1949.  The WA Speed Boat Club has raced at Matilda Bay (Crawley), Coode Street (South Perth) and at Heirisson Island before moving to their present location - at the Burswood Water Sports Centre in Camfield Drive, in front of the Burswood Resort and Casino. Race meetings are held on the second Sunday of the month from November to June  .
